You found my video on YouTube. I don't come on the CB forums much since I sold my CB, but I ran a decatted header with an Arrow exhaust. It was decently quiet. I never hurt any feelings with it.

If you decide you want to attempt chopping up a header and muffler, I have a spare of both that are collecting dust. Decatting an OEM muffler is going to be very similar to buying an aftermarket header (except the OEM header is thicker wall tubing, stainless, and very nice in appearance). So you won't be harming much.
