Scout...first of all, The ferret is always short. 
Second, I failed to mention two things in my post that you just quoted: 1) I have an aftermarket exhaust largely because I found the stock too quiet. I just happen to find that straight pipes are too loud for me ears. and 2) Our big motorcycle trip this past summer was to northwest Arkansas and it certainly is a great place to ride. I wish Tropical Storm Bill had not chased us out of Harrison two days early.
Lastly, I think you will find lots of valuable information here on how to modify your CB1100 and some thoughts from some members why a particular mod won't work or is not a good idea. Frankly, I think this forum welcomes disagreement as long as it is presented in an agreeable manner.
