That's not a "sppon" spoon . That's the mount lever that comes with the changer to pull the bead over the mount shoe. With the lube I use if you don't hold the bead down in the center of the rim it will pop over it.
I also have a " strong arm " , you can see it in the back ground. I use that on stiff tires like HD and gold wing
tires. Pretty much turns it into a newer leverless machine.
