So maybe the oddball high idle issue is a malfunctioning sensor causing the idle to stay up even when bike is warm? Where is the temperature sensor and has anybody tried replacing it?

The Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) sensor is located at the back side of the cylinder, near center, bottom. I replaced mine and it did not solve the idle speed problem. However, unplugging it made the bike run perfect (this is why I replaced it). When unplugged the warning light comes on, and the oil temperature light is on also.
