Sounds like a fun project. Based on your needs, and given that it'll be a one-off thing, I'd probably ditch the Bluetooth altogether. Rig up a simple transmitter that transmits a tone anytime that either blinker is on (it would be gated at the blink rate). Put a simple receiver in the helmet attached to a speaker and "Bob's your Uncle". You'd need a battery to power the receiver, and it'll end up being a bit clunky probably, but still and all, a fun project.
A quick search turned up this. The guy who did this actually didn't want the audio indication, and went an additional step to wire up an LED (he did it with his brake circuit so that his helmet lit up). Either way, this looks like a good starting point...
