Yes, a modified bike means a buyer has to be extra smart and aware of what was done and what it means- but to be fair, a lot of 'stock' bikes and cars might not truly be- people throw the original parts back on them to sell.. no matter what- buyer beware!
When I bought my ZRX1200, I looked at many other ZRX before it- and most were clapped out, over-advertised in attempt for over selling what they really had. My thought is anyone that uses the term mint- don't even bother going to look at it as they don't understand what that means.
That being said, the bike I ended up buying was essentially flawless even though it had '04 silver bodywork on an '01 bike, with a full Yosh pipe and a jet kit and Sargent seat. If you've been doing this long enough, you know what to look at to judge hackjob's, abuse, and even simple wear and tear.
