Different side stands for each year
#4
I changed my 13' side stand to the 14' one that had greater lean. There are several part numbers and different in US and Japan.

The story behind it is, the 10-13' didn't have enough lean and was easier to tip over if the ground wasn't too level. They made one with a greater lean angle in 14' but it was too much of a lean. Owners in Japan complained that it made the bike too heavy to straighten up. So they made another with slightly less lean. Also there was a different version to avoid hitting the twin exhaust on the EX/DLX for certain years.

Check out these blogs to see the difference in lean angle and length (part numbers included).
