I use the same generator and Cormanus's quote is correct.
I suspect standard oil *with* friction modifiers is preferred (car engine oil).
Motorcycle oil without the friction modifiers is more foam resistant and, of course, wet clutch friendly. These attributes are not applicable to the generator.
