Most of my driving is to Fort Knox and back, about 120 miles round trip. Mostly 4 lane. Recent mpg has been 50-56. That's with a Plexi 2. I guess it also depends on my mood that day!!!

I am at 44 to 47 mpg for a mix of highway and city.

My tank Saturday was 53 mpg calculated not using the fuel computer

I normally don't get great mileage, as I tend to overly enjoy the bike's capability to accelerate
Last weekend I was doing an afternoon run on the back road to Tucson and decided to channel the spirit of Ferret to see what kind of mpg I could attain. It worked! Using the throttle lock, I spent 125 miles between 65 and 70 and pulled off 53 mpg. That's with the NC deflector up front. I don't think I could do any better unless I went slower. On a carbed bike your mixture would get richer and mileage would go down. On an FI bike, the computer should adjust your mixture to compensate for the reduced incoming air flow. You'd have less overall power available (due to the intake restriction) for which you'd compensate by opening the throttle further.

I'm like a human throttle lock lol. Actually where I ride, very little traffic, very few stop signs and almost zero traffic lights it's easy to cruise for hours without having to vary throttle setting a whole lot. Roll off for a curve, roll it back on for the next straight.... repeat.... a lot!

If my fuel mileage dips above 45mpg, I know I need to ride faster for the next leg.

I was running around 45 mpg, then added cat free headers. Mileage dropped to the mid to high 30s. I guess I've settled down a bit because the average on the last tank was 44mpg.

While not an accurate measure my first fill up figured at 51.8 mpg. Kinda gives me an indication of what to expect down the road.

Just finished my first tank last week - 148 miles and 48.4mpg. I don't usually keep track of that kind of thing on bikes, but since it was the inaugural fill-up, I thought I'd see what I was getting.
Oddly, that's a bit better than my twin 865cc Bonneville... |
