I have had a plethora of inline 4 liter bikes, so I don't feel the vibes on the CB 11 at all, and I have spent quite a few 7 to 9 hour days with many of those hours at 70-80 mph. For me the vibes in the CB are a non issue. They are simply not bothersome. Most find the stock seat uncomfortable after several hours, some before that. The ergos are good for most people while others change bars, risers, footpegs and seat heights to alter the ergos to suit them.

the ergo of this bike should be good for anyone under 5'10. above 6' with 32'' inseam can be a problem. at 6'4, rider need a very tall seat.

on smooth road, I detect no vibes and I love the low end torque of the engine.

I don't get vibration at 4000 r../..120km but do get a tingle throuh the bars . After that there is only the sound of wind.
I'll wait till it's run in, then tested at higher speed and revs.

I bought the CB1100 on faith as the dealer also would not permit a test ride.

This bike is very smooth from 0 to 65 MPH. Once you start pushing it more than 65, there is so much going on you would be hard pressed to notice any vibration in the handle bars. I've got wind rushing by, trucks blasting and buffeting, screaming engine noise from the revs. I am thinking about survival. But those long stemmed mirrors are clear at 65mph as others have stated, handlebar vibes are non-existent. I just don't run it more than 70mph because I am scared. I am not completely certain I can hang on to the bike. There I said it and I am glad.

Seat vibration could be an issue depending on how long you sit in the seat at one time and one speed. I have not sat for more than a few hours, so I cannot say, but that amount of time was not a bother.

I looked at a few other bikes, but really, I walked in off the street at Reynolds Honda and saw it and bought it. After I bought, I read some internet magazine articles and I guess I just lucked out. It is a great motorcycle, destined to continue as a classic.

Anyone out there own both?

I traded my 2013 BMW F700 GS for the CB1100. Compared to the BMW, the Honda has much stronger brakes, is far smoother, and has a lot more grunt.

The F700 is a great bike with loads of electronic gee-wiz devices like traction control, electronic suspension and ABS but it's not the road machine the Honda is. After 30 minutes riding the BMW, the seat felt like a concrete plank.

Well since we are confessing! I attempted to test the speed limiter, but once I reached 110 I backed out. Simply did not feel comfortable at that speed. There I said it.

Respect.

The great thing about this bike is that you can ride it any way you like. I think it's a bike for chilling out on - and I love it - speed doesn't enter my mind.
Over here in Germany, I have an Autobahn a couple of miles away with no speed limit. I've had VFR's, ST1300's and my Crosstourer at the limit - but it doesn't turn me on. I much prefer the twisties, and the CB is good at twisties.

It's not the speed, it's the feeling.

You got that right, it ain't about the speed, it's about the feeling/ride.

That is exactly what my preference has evolved to. Maybe that is why I'm drawn to it. Also the size. I does not look like a large bike. The F800 handles fantastic, but sor some reason, I feel like I'm too high up. Ehh...
I will wait for the 2014 to come out. I'll get a black one!

This would be my first aircooled bike. Hows the heat while waiting in traffic? i'm afraid my pants will touch the engine and catch fire! Tongue I guess the trick would be to turn the engine off until the light turns green...

my long ago Honda VF500F Interceptor generates more heat into my legs in summer time at stop light since the fan is turned on and blows all the heat - The CB1100 doesn't generate much heat in last summer as I don't feel any

I happen to own both the BMW F800GT and the CB1100. The Honda since April and nearly 5K miles. The GT since July and nearly the same miles. I'm also on the F800 Forum. Well, I just don't understand the vibration complaints. It's a parallel twin! I use those foam grip buddy things on BOTH bikes. And I hold those grips as loosely as I can. I'm 65 and I excercise every day. I dunno. Both bikes have vibes at certain RPM's. I love them both! Hey, the Madstad screen for the Beemer is the big fix. I put a Givi fly screen on the Honda. Looks good and just enough. For me, the CB is my local rider. I rode it today. But the Beemer has more luggage capacity and wind protection. Well,I'm rambling...get both!
