2013 CB1100 MPG
#21
I did the GPS speedo check. My wife rides a TU250 also. She just puts saddle bags on the bike but still get around 80-85 mpg at the speeds we ride together; max 70 mph. I'm kinda ashamed to check the CB based on her results.

Something must be wrong with my CB1100('s owner)... I'm only getting around 38 MPG... Stupid torque is too much fun.

Just finished my 7th tank. Mileage is pretty predictable at this point. Around the city (with some freeway miles) between 41 and 42 mpg. Tanks with all or mostly highway miles were 45-46.

Surprisingly, this is exactly what I get on the old CB750.

I've seen a lot of posts with mileage numbers in the 50s, but I imagine my riding style will keep that from happening very often.

I think the CA gas and just me (all 255 lbs of me) will keep me from seeing a 50+ number.

Been there and done that myself. Angel One of my buddies had a Yamaha Warrior and he hammered on that thing constantly. He was getting 26-28 mpg out of it. Now thats pretty bad for a motorcycle. He has since gotten a lot older (like I havent) and can get 50+mpg out of a Victory 106 under the right conditions. Funny how that age thing works.

One thing I forgot to say about my good mpg. I only put in pure gas. We have a station nearby that has all 3 grades with no
ethanol in it at all. It does make a diff.

Yep, about 2-4 mpg less.

Incorrect sir. Ethanol (A.K.A. alcohol) kills gas mileage because it takes more of it to achieve the correct A:F ratio.

This past weekend was the first fill-up that was almost completely made up of highway miles with very limited in-town riding. I averaged 53 mpg which is much better than the 35-38 I've been getting around town (no freeway time) during my commute.
