My very first ride I did not notice vibration down low at all, rather when I got on the highway above 60 mph. A Japanese engineer decided for a more vintage feel and he offset the timing of the motor to make it feel more like the original CB750. The original 2010 CB1100 motor is the one in the 2013 CB1100. For 2014 they said they made some changes to the motor, aside from the six speed transmission. The idea was never to race, rather, to take one's time and then when the throttle is opened to feel the motor as well as hear it.

I was playing with the vibes today while going down the highway. I noticed that the bar vibes that I feel at highway speeds in 5th (~4,250 rpm) virtually disappear if I downshift and get the rpm above 5,000). I went back and forth numerous times between 4th and 5th at around 80 mph and it's really noticeable if you're paying attention to it.

I suspect this may be a reason why I often forget to shift into 5th at highway speed.
