It is bothers me too much, I know a good paint shop. Maybe a black base with burgundy accents and some tasteful pin stripping.

Honda must have watched the video of the owner who complained the instruments reflected the sun and blinded him going to work and back. Maybe a tinted wind screen was needed.

Some maker (Triumph?Moto Guzzi?) has a new model where the instrument's viewing angle is adjustable

How many of us get killed making turns because people "don't see us"? I'll take HUGE blinkers for myself. "BLINK BLINK BLINK I'M TURNING HEAH!"

Funny, I spent a good amount of money to put larger 2013 blinkers on my 2014. I also put 2013 switch controls. Both of these were to get a more authentic look of what the bike would have looked like if it was built 35 years earlier.

Picture from the Chicago IMS. Metal-flake paint is significantly different than the previous reds.

Look closely at the triple clamp... the pinch bolts are now behind the fork legs AND the handlebar mounts have moved forward. Honda press releases say the handlebars were moved forward on the RS but it appears they were on the EX also.

I think Honda has really improved the sound of the 2017. It sounds a lot more like the CB750 from the 70s, where you can hear the individual exhaust pulses, and it has more of a bass tone. In the first quoted video, at around 0:48, when the guy is riding the white EX around slowly you can hear it, and also in the video link I'm adding below, at about 1:40 when the guy rides it for a bit, it really sounds great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVuzX10ZJjU. I know it's hard to tell true sound from just a video, but it sure does sound like an improvement over the previous stock exhaust.

Better exhaust note and less mechanical whine on the 2017 EX than previous CB1100s.

Great video! That's the first I have seen where they actually ride the 2017 CB1100 on some good twisty roads. No annoying music to drown out the sound of the bike either. A number of things I noticed.
Although the rider's mike is probably in his helmet, there seems to be very little wind noise on the CB1100 even without a windscreen. If you read the forum posts on adventure styled motorcycles with windscreens, their riders whine endlessly about the buffeting and wind noise.
The gear indicator flashes continuously, something like taking of video of a TV screen. I hope this not the case while riding.
The sparkly paint of the red gas tank seemed more subdued that some of the still pictures I have seen. More metallic than the chunky metal flake of early era custom choppers and cars.
As riders have posted here, this motorcycle is happy and strong at low revs. No need to wring it's neck to accelerate briskly. When he did give it a shot the mufflers were audible but not annoying.
The video seemed very smooth even at speed. I wonder if this is a function of the camera or the new suspension?

I think there's a lot to be said for exposing a helmet to clean, undisturbed, motionless air on a naked bike.
Many short, modern windscreens deflect air from the front of the bike and re-direct it right at the rider's neck / visor area. This doubles the amount of wind passing by the helmet, at higher velocity to boot.
A windscreen is only really effective if it throws the air completely over your head, which in most cases means you'll be looking through not over the windscreen.
The lack of a windscreen does become an issue at higher speeds, say 65 mph and over. However, that is not the CB1100's native habitat.

Per the video spokesman there's only $400 pounds difference between the standard and RS? Even at the exchange rate that price difference is negligible and can't possibly be the reason the RS is not coming to the US.

even more and better footage from the Austrian guys of 1000PS
All the reviews are an indication for me the cb1100 got real international recognition for the first time since its launch years ago

when your are looking at a tv screen, pc screen or any kind of screen thats being filmed, you always see some flickering, totally normal
somehow capturing a screen on video makes it look like its flickering while irl it doesn't
The 2014 EX/DLX bikes have the same display, no flickering on mine.
The Africa twin uses the same kine of display, no flickering at all while when i testrided that one.
