The white box on the wall behind the CB's instruments is the inverter that converts the energy generated by solar panels into AC power for use in the house.

Bonneville Dam area, Columbia River

Bonneveill Dam...produces 1,227 megawatts, which the internet says enough to power 900,000 homes

There are 14 dams on the Columbia, 11 in the U.S. and 3 in Canada, 1,243 miles / 2000 kilometers long.  It's a beautiful river.

Lots of wind farms just an hour plus east, on the dry side of Oregon and Washington.  There are some areas that it's mile after mile of turbines, as far as the eye can see...and the eye can see pretty far at times.  I saw one turbine once that had been burned, and it was blackened at where the blades come together.  The grasslands around the turbine had been burned too.  It made me wonder if the fire was caused by the turbine.  Could have been a coincidence.

System Information: Siemens SGT6-5000F Gas Turbines and a Siemens SST-5000 Steam Turbine

Total Installed Capacity: 680MW
