Chose to ride the CB as it hadn't been getting much love lately since the snow last week. Temperature was a damp 28 degrees, overcast with light snow flurries coming down. Thought I was dressing warm enough. Donned the snowmobile outfit, my thickest cold weather gloves and heavy balaclava with the neoprene face mask.

At 9 miles my finger tips were starting to get cold. At 11 miles they were really cold, at 13 miles they were starting to hurt, and at a stop sign I reached down and grabbed the cylinder fins on each side of the motor to warm them up some. I circled around back towards the house. At 18 miles my finger tips were aching. At 21 miles I was back in the garage, thankful to be out of this stinking cold.

I rode the ST 108 miles yesterday, but it has a full fairing/windshield, and I had my electric jacket liner and glove liners plugged in. What a difference.

Poor CB may be doing more sitting than being ridden in the next few months unless the temps moderate some Sad

I did order 2 new tires for it yesterday Thumbs Up

I confess. I spent some time hovering over the Report This Thread option. But who would I be reporting to? Mmmmmm. I thought that I had some expertise in the click-bait-thread-title bake off (remember "Females for Sale"?), but Ferret, this really does put you firmly in the final round.

"What's the Ferret done?" "What limit?" Trembling with anticipation I read on. Rev limiter? Top speed limiter? A bank angle in excess of 60deg and hero pegs ground down to nothing? 400yard mono with Mrs Ferret on the pillion? No. Nup. Not at all. Negative. Non, Nein and Nyet. Just "My little fingies are cold". Harden up man! It's only the lack of heat that's worrying you. Smile.

Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving.

oh...I ordered Michelin Pilot Road 3's like CIP and ES are running. I love Michelin tires, run them on all my vehicle, motorcycles, cars and truck. Wish they made the exact size we need for the rear, but it seems that no one is having any issues with the slightly oversized rear tire.

What is nice down here, you freeze your bums off in the morning if you leave real early, but by mid day the electrics are stowed, jacket vents are open and you are liven life. Smile

But oh man, the mornings can be brutal.

What kind of temp spreads do you get Rboe? This time of the year we are only getting 10 to 15 degree swings, but other parts of the year we can get a 30 degree swing in one day.

Tank bag. Stuff the liners in it, pack two to three pairs of gloves, in case you guess wrong.

Heated grips for those fingers. Best money I ever spent when I bought the BMW 25 years ago.

Given that some people have low sided the CB11 already, if it gets into the 30s, that's asking a lot of these narrow profile tires. Leaves. Black ice. I dislocated my left shoulder a couple of years ago. I'm good!

Todays ride was on the ST ..with electric jacket liner and glove liners.... 48 miles. Temp when I left was 29 and 31 when I got home. Totally comfortable, could have ridden all day if I didn't have to take grandkids back home in a half an hour. Like I said, what a difference.

Love my CB, love it, but it's not nearly the winter bike the ST is lol
