Staintune and short stem mirror questions

Hello CB family,
I am looking into buying the Staintune slip-on exhaust Part Number: HO MS CB 11F, but I would like to hear from those who have it already before making the “big” purchase. I saw the video posted on youtube and I have seen the different posts. If you have Staintune, can you give me an update on the quality and let me know if you have had any issues with it so far?
Also, I am changing the handle bar – Thank you for the instructions ChipBeck - The only thing I would like to change on the mirrors is the stem. Anybody knows where I can find short stem mirrors that look the same as the stock ones. Or finding a shorter stem that can be used with the mirror?

Yea plug Staintune into the search engine, lots of posts. Everybody seems thrilled with them from what I can tell. One was just posted in the for sale section although I think it was scooped up in about 30 seconds.

No complaints at all.

Upside: The Staintune is a very high quality piece,

Downside: With a price to match.

Bottom Line: At this point, if I had is chance to do it all over, I'd still stick with the Staintune.

Staintune is the way to go. Uncompromising quality and it looks like it fits the bike, takes longer to unpack it than it does to install, not too loud but it will roar when you want it to.

Order it from Pirates lair. Jerry has the best price and top quality customer service.

As for mirrors, Takashi at Samurider is your best bet.

Staintune is great. Love the look and the sound. No complaints, no regrets. I bought mine used from another member who sold their CB11 so I saved a bit there.

As to shortening the mirror arms, I haven't seen or heard of anyone attempting this. Most members just bought new mirror if they were unhappy with the Mickey Mouse ears.

I called Pirate's Lair and they told me they had one available. The gentleman I talked to was very nice and answer all of my questions. Thank you all for taking the time and replaying. I am buying it from Pirate's Lair tonight

Got mine from Pirate's Lair as well. No complaints there. Would buy from them again in a heartbeat.

The pipe looks great on the bike and was pretty easy to install (and I'm a terrible wrencher). I do wish it had a slightly deeper growl but have been very happy with it.

There's a guy on the forum selling a like-new Two Brothers aluminium exhaust, with several nice accessories, for only $350. Rumor has it he's hit hard times and his kids need shoes for the cold winter ahead. Maybe you should give that a look before spending more than twice as much on a foreign-produced product. Two Brothers is All American Made!

I pretty much considered all of the available options before deciding on the Staintune slip-on exhaust. Comparing the Staintune and the Two Brothers offerings is interesting.

The Staintune can was clearly designed with the styling of the CB1100 in mind. It looks like it could come with the bike right off of the assembly line. The Two Brothers can looks pretty much like every other can they make, thrown out on the market with little thought as to the aesthetics of the bike.

The Staintune can is beautifully constructed, with no rivets — just clean polished welds, unlike the Two Brothers can. I'm guessing that one reason for this is because eventually you'll probably have to re-pack the Two Brothers unit. Whereas the Staintune unit requires no such maintenance. It's also probably much less expensive to manufacture the type of exhaust favored by Two Brothers.

With the Staintune unit being manufactured in Australia, those of us located elsewhere are going to see some additional costs because of this. But even if Staintune were located here in the States, I would still expect the product to cost more just for what you are getting when compared to the Two Brothers offering.

I realize that The Spaceman's post is in good humor, but I still wish Two Brothers had put a little more effort into their product for the CB1100. When it comes to cars, I find the "coffee can" exhausts to be rather perplexing. But when it comes to bikes, I simply don't get it at all. Yes, I'm a bit old-fashioned. But then so is the CB1100.
