Ditto !!

That's all I care as well ..

I loved the blacked out wheels/engine, triangular side panels, lower headlight/seat stance (silohoutte ?)

I was actually worried they would release an all silver engine and wheels so I picked up a left over 2013 real quick ..

The 5 speed gearing especially at freeway speeds is not really too bad .. I'll play around with a larger one tooth front sprocket when it's available and that should be a easy $20 mod instead of going for the 6th gear tranny ..

It will never be perfect with ratios so it's always a give and take and fine balance on your favorite twisties and freeways ..

Yep, me too. It's funny, when reading the tests, reviews, etc., on the 2013, they all said that the 5 speed was fine, "it doesn't need a 6th gear" was an oft repeated phrase among most of the journalists that I read.

I would like to have the 6th gear, for sure, but it's not that big of a want. The new ones are nice, no doubt about it, but I'm happy with what I have.

Six gears would be nice, but do you think it would it be as rider friendly as the 5 speed? I have rolled on the throttle in 5th, as low as 30 mph and not had the slightest hick-up. I think I would like a larger capacity fuel tank.

I took 2 multi day multi state trips on my 13 and absolutely no issues with the 5 speed even running all day on the freeway...and the trans is the same on the 14, same ratios 1-5, so you could still be in 5 th gear at 30 mph and pull without a hitch. The only difference with the 6 th gear is that revs will drop from the same speed in 5 th...my guess by about 400 rpms. Ie if you were running say 80 miles per hour in 5 th at 5000 rpms, the 6 th gear will run that same speed at say 4600 rpms. Same effect if you put a one tooth larger counter or 3 tooth smaller rear sprockets. However gear the bike UP with the sprockets to run at lower rpms, and it won't take off from a stop as easy as before, however with the huge torque that the CB 1100 has that should not be an issue. The issue right now is finding someone who makes a 1 tooth larger counter for the 13s.

For example, if Honda modified the center stand on the Deluxe model to accommodate the dual exhaust configuration, then perhaps this stand could be used on the older CBs to accommodate a number of aftermarket exhaust options that many were interested in, but weren't willing to give up their center stands .

In addition, those interested in creating a hybrid look would more than likely be able to use the new EX/DLX side panels on their 1st gen bikes. Same probably goes for the seat, turn signals and tank.

It will be interesting to see what people come up with as this year progresses.

Oh please, please let this be true. I'm planning on buying a set of Pipemaster four into fours and was pretty devasted that I'd have to get rid of the centrestand, if this is the case I might be able to have my cake and eat it too.

Here's another "I wonder." Is the '14 Standards headers double walled and would they easily fit on our '13?
