Also good is some rubbing alcohol on the inside of the grip. Just slip them on. Biggest problem is the leftover glue from the old grips.
Anyway, the alcohol evaporates after a bit and the rubber grips the metal just fine all by itself. just watch that the alky doesn't get on the paint!
