Hi everyone! For my '14 DLX, there were three bits of "flare" from the 2017 CB that I wanted to add. I have two of the three so far: air cleaner covers & the chrome gauge pod covers. However, for the third piece, I'm requesting a bit of assistance from someone that has a 2017 to look at...

In the parts breakdown on the 2017, it shows the silver instrument applique as a stick on item covering what appears to be the same instrument case that is on previous year CB's. What I need to know is if it fits flush around the outer edge or if there is a noticeable lip (as if it was just an add-on cover). It's a bit pricey to just buy and hope it will fit so I'd like to establish a bit of confidence it will work first.

Pic 1 shows the 2017 piece I'm referring to, while Pic 2 an 3 are the '14 and '17 parts fiches, respectively.

I just looked at both my 2014 and 2017 and I am quite certain that you can just fit the nice 2017 cover over the 2014 with the pieces of two sided tape.
To be honest I never thought of doing this but it will look much nicer with the silver cover.

Thanks Houtman, that’s the info I needed... especially because you were able to compare both models side by side. My worry was that the ‘17 had a channel or recessed area for it to sit in (that wasn’t accurately illustrated in the parts fiche). I agree, the silver cover looks much nicer and I was surprised to see it was essentially just a stick-on piece of trim. I’ll probsbly spring for it and the report back on its fitment.

It's not cheap for being solely an aesthetic "upgrade" ($90'ish shipped). However, I have decided to get it and see if it looks as good on the DLX as it does on the 2017 EX/RS.

Lots of options for purchasing... Your local dealer should be able to order it or you can get it online from Babbit's or Partszilla (two retailers I've had good luck with - links below).

The '17 meter trim arrived today. I only had a few minutes to throw it on and snap a quick pic. Once I saw it in person, it's pretty obvious Honda just designed a cover to spruce up the existing panel. It is a bit pricey, but looks nice and can pass for aluminum in appearance (I'm sure the 2017 owners already knew this Tongue

).

Fit is perfect! The clips on the bottom snap in and hold it firmly along with the double-sided tape.

That does look good. if it wasn't so pricy I'd consider that for my DLX.

That looks good on your bike , you just made me spend more money as I will put it on my 2014.
I never thought of that part fitting on the 2014.
