Hi All!
Okidoki, my first post on the mod's section here and my first mod on my CB. I picked up a Yoshimura RS-3 slip on in stainless for $280 shipped. Sweet deal from indysuperbikes.com and they were really helpful on the phone as I was trying to get it shipped to CA before the weekend. They called Yoshimura in So. Cal. and had it drop shipped that day. Now, that said I made a mistake on the one I purchased. If you just google the RS-3 for CB1100, there will be a number of vendors that list it as fitting 2013-2014 CB1100 with single exhaust. This is not the case, as the center stand adaptor that ships with the 2013 kit does not work on the 2014, standard or deluxe. When you remove the factory exhaust, it takes the travel stop for the center stand with it that is welded to the factory exhaust pipe. Without it your chain becomes the travel stop. Nifty bit of engineering on Honda's part, not so helpful if you want to upgrade your pipe. So to compensate for this, Yoshimura includes an adaptor bracket that slides over the stock center stand hinge point that serves as a stop, even better that the stock one I think. That said, Honda moved the return spring assembly on the 2014 to the center of the center stand from where it was on the side on the 2013. (to accommodate the dual exhaust on the deluxe I'm assuming?). This makes the adaptor plate interfere terribly with the spring assembly.
It is a bit of a bear to put on the bracket and slide the 2 little elusive $#@% spacers between the bracket and the frame. I was lying on the ground for the better part of 45 mins trying to get them in and the whole time my shoulders were screaming, WTF is this messed up angle you're working at???

I finally got it bolted up and pulled the bike of the center stand to test it out and it just goes up about 2 inches and binds. Super nice.

At this point I get on the web and found another member here on CB1100 that had the same issue to no avail, it looks like he dumped his stand. I had already installed everything, so no returns. I went to Yoshi's site and sure as shinola there are two different part numbers for the 2013 and 2014 and the 2014 version mentions nothing about the nifty center stand adapter they include with the 2013. I had hoped I could order the proper bracket from them, all other posts I found about issues with their systems seem to be well supported and handled by their support team. Unfortunately it looks like they do not have one available. I was pretty thrilled with the center stand and a lot of maintenance in the service manual starts with, "Place the bike on the center stand on a level surface and check the level of ..." Anyhow, long story short I was able to modify the bracket and it worked out well. And it doesn't look *too* shody. The exhaust itself went on smooth, zero issues. Bolted right up with no exhaust leaks. It sounds really good! I added a K&N too and it jumps when I roll the throttle. Did I mention how good it sounds? So here's the required pics and details on the adapter plate modification I did in case anyone else runs into this bit of fun. Hope there not too many pics and they make sense.

Post about my new license plate holder fab up to follow.
I ended up cutting out the middle section of the adaptor plate. I mounted them on each side as per the instructions. It is still plenty strong, really strong, when it is mounted.
Cleaned up the cuts. Eased the corners on the grinding wheel and filed it all down smooth.
I brushed on a couple coats of black enamel to keep the freshly cut steel from rusting. Delay it anyhow, I live 1/4 mile from the ocean: Death, taxes, and rust.
Ready to install! I picked up some stainless bolts and a nylock nut to replace the zinc coated ones and the regular nut they included. No split washer or anything? weird. Fixed that up.
Here is the plate installed and doing it's job. It's twin looks the same on the other side.
Here is how the spring assembly sits in the middle with the plate I cut up on either side. This should make a bit more sense seeing it.
It only has to support the tension on the return spring and maybe an occasional slap of the center stand coming up. The bracket they supply is WAY overbuilt. Considering the way it is sandwiched in the rolled up side of the frame and how it cantilevers against the frame when the stand is resting against it with no side load on the bolt; I can't see how it would fail. You seeing this Yoshimura folks??
