Tall Riders and Comet striped shield

Hi - U am 6'1 and wanted to know if this is comfortable for tall riders?

Is there a flatfoot board after market option available incase of getting cramps on long rides.

Any website where I can order the Comet red striped with upper lip windscreen?

Thank you in advance!

Hey nighty, just to let you know the Emgo Venom can modified easily to fit on the CB and looks very similar to the Comet for like 70$

2014 CB1100, 1981 KZ440 LTD, 1993 Yamaha XJ600 Seca, 1994 Yamaha XJ600 Seca

I’m 6’6” (36” inseam) and was comfortable on my ‘14 DLX without any modifications. YMMV. But the toe of my size 13 boots made contact with the rear brake lever without my knowledge, ruining the rotor and pads.

Road comet discontinued the tall windscreen a number or years ago. You can contact Samurider and see if he can get his hands on one, but be aware that by itself the screen is about $200 without the cowl if he can find one.

Personally I would not recommend this bike for tall riders, or more specifically "long legged" riders. In your 30's it doesn't matter, you can put up with anything but if you are getting on in age you might find the seat to peg distance a bit limiting. I could well believe a lot of the low mileage CB1100's for sale are due to owners finding the seating too cramped for them. I am 6' but do have 29" legs so not too bad for me.

Just to give you a comparative example, my 1995 Daytona 1200 has a full on "extreme sports" bike geometry and it is well known for it in the Triumph community as a challenge to get comfortable with its very high pegs & levers. I can handle a few hours, maybe a short day on this thing before my hips need reconstructing. But, the seat to peg distance is only 50mm longer on the CB1100 than that Daytona, I was surprised there was so little difference. It is not going to suit a lot of people.

It is a beautiful bike to own and I shall keep mine as a summers day rider but it does have its limitations, especially if it is to be your primary bike and you want to do mileage. I know there are always exceptions, the 6'3" seventy year old who does 500 miles a day on his CB, but they are the exception.

You are so correct Tev.

I gave the CB1100 a strong go and wished I didn't let it go. A nicely engineered machine, but not for daily or long distance use for tall riders.

Thanks for sharing.

I ride a 1972 royal enfield 350 bullet ( British side gear shift) I lover it and the height is same as the CB 1100. I do get cramps on long rides and stand up on red lights to ease out. I think it will be manageable for me.
I love the CB. Wish I could get the triumph straight pipes
sound. Overall lovely.

Thank you again. I will look for low cost reliable one

Dang, those big feet.

At that height, I can only imagine you draping over the CB1100. The upshot is the mill can handle the rider's hulk without a sweat.

Difficult to see, but that’s 6’6” me in front, followed by Offroad. Ferret took the photo. Not sure I’m draped over the bike, but sure, I don’t have the ideal physique for this bike (or any bike for that matter). That said, I didn’t find it cramped or uncomfortable at all.
