This time, I personally would be interested to know what ages make up our current, active member base. If you ride a CB1100, great! If not, and you still enjoy this forum then that's definitely cool too. I would still encourage your participation in this poll.

To clarify the poll question, please indicate what your age will be at the end of 2020.

As far as comments associated with the poll are concerned, maybe include a note regarding what motorcycle you are currently riding the most. How long you've been hanging around the forum, be it actively or lurking. Or anything else that you might care to add that seems like it might be relevant.

Finally, no one is being forced to do this. I am asking for your participation simply because I am curious about the demographic of those currently using this forum that the moderators and I work to keep up & running. If you are not comfortable with this, then no problem.

This poll is a "limited time offer" so to speak and will time out at the end of 2020.

Thanks,
Guth

Are you going to quantify end of '20 results with percentages from original poll? It wouldn't be a very scientific comparison because of too many uncontrolled factors, but it would be interesting to see in general terms how much the group has "matured".

Actually no. Although while that would not likely prove to be very accurate, I suspect it might still be interesting.

Here's the deal: Some of you who have been regulars around here for more than a couple of years (whether actively posting or largely lurking) might realize that I was largely "out of the picture" around here for an extended period of time. This was related to my health and not a planned absence on my part. At this point I would like to think that for me personally that period of my life is now water under the bridge.

But that does not change the fact that I missed an extensive amount of time around here (other than handling some tasks deep behind the scenes). Not surprisingly a number of members departed during this time while many others joined us. Basically, in my absence from participating around here the "dialogue-based connection" that I had with forum overall has eroded to some degree. As odd as it might sound, at this point I am basically working to reintegrate myself back into the community that I started to begin with, lol.

So, as the saying goes "it's all about me!". Cool As there has been some turnover here on the forum over the past few years I thought this poll might help give me a slightly better feel for forum's overall makeup (whether or not it is indicative of any sort of a change matters little to me). I will tell you this though. I have always been somewhat saddened to see members abandoning their CB1100's regardless of the reason (yes I do realize that this is not at all uncommon amongst enthusiast sites focused on motorcycles and cars). But to see so many "previous CB1100 owners" deciding to stick around and hang with the rest of us is really a cool thing for me (and I'm sure for all of you as well).

Man, I guess that pretty much covers it. I was honestly not expecting so many of you to participate so early on. With that in mind I will take this opportunity to thank all of you who have already chosen to do so. And a special thanks to those of you who also took the extra time to post up a little more detail about yourself as prompted — I really appreciate it (and I'm guessing this benefits other members who aren't as active overall).

I'll also say thanks in advance to those of you who also decide to participate in this one at some other point during the year. You guys know how it goes, we are still in April as I type this. Right now some of you are still waiting for snow to thaw were you ar located, while others are trying to get in more comfortable riding before the heat hits soon. Regardless, when it comes to life in general and motorcycling in particular, the year will be over before we know it.

All the best,
Guth

I'll be 81 in October. My 2014DLX is my 2nd CB1100, the 1st being a 2013. Both were bought used, each not very used. I'm not riding as much as I once did, but I still enjoy it! Right now Colorado has a "stay at home" order, but that expires Sunday night. I'm looking forward to at least some short rides soon!

I bought my 2014 standard in Oct of 2017. I'm 69 and spend July, Aug and Sept spey casting for salmon in and around Thorne Bay Alaska. I don't have a lot of miles on my bike but it is a great bike. I took it to Ak last year and got my first speeding ticket in Alaska. Bucket list action. I've been travelling around Alaska and other northern areas since 1970. Before last year Fort St John in BC was my wildest trip. That was the 1970s and I find it hard to believe my back would allow me to run cross country today. I've no doubt that the cb1100 could out perform my old cb 350 four or the gt 750 Suzuki that I took on my old north country adventures.

Just back into motorcycle's just about 4 years ago to the day. April 2016 bought ( age 51) new leftover 2013 Standard. Sat on it and said I'll take it..
My brother has bought his first bike and encouraged me to get I bike to ride together, I needed a great hobby Anyhow.
I had given up motorcycle sports at mid 20s for the family thing. Now at age 55 , getting back on has been a great new reinvention of my individual spirit of freedom and artistic expression throughout.
Having turns out , I've quite a enthusiastic passion for old school and " Vintage " UJM bikes. Several great group and solo trips, on the Cb 1100. Great Smokey Mts, " Tail of Dragon " , for a couple weeks, out to Awesome Colorado, Million Dollar Hwy and many other great Colorado Rides...two weeks .
Up to New England and Massachusetts.
Looking forward to Montana and Yellowstone if this economic and fake Pandemic storm pass by early July.
What a GREAT Freedom and escape to just Go down the road...and explore.
