I ordered a rear fender from Takashi and gave him my license plate mounting hole measurements. I got this response back:
Could you tell me the license plate detail dimension ?
・Height, Width of the license plate
・Diameter of the mounting hole.
・Distance between the mounting holes, 144mm?
・Distance between the mounting hole and edge of the license plate
Is the plate dimension different depending on the states(area)?
Chic Design and I want to solve the problem.
I very much appreciate your help.
I provided measurements of my Maryland tag and told him I thought motorcycle plate size was standarized in the US but would check with you guys.
So, is a 4" x 7" motorcycle license plate standard in all 50 states?

I'd like the same. Plus a few other farkels he offers. Too bad we couldn't just order the bike with some of these extra's from the dealer. End up with extra seats and "stuff" that lays around taking up space. If you hold onto things long enough you can sell an original seat but that's way too far down the road for it to work for me with this CB1100.
With six bikes I've got a small storage building full of bits and pieces which go to these various bikes. On the Valkyrie alone two different seats and a cobra exhaust (which was too loud for me). Back rests, pillion seats, windshields etc.
Just seems to go with the hobby. I do need to thin the herd this spring.

He may have asked as overseas the plates are different dimensions. Maybe he has yet to know or learn the dimensions of the US or he wanted to make sure things didn't change?

Chic Design and Mr. T got it perfect. My rear fender finally came in and the $38 license plate adapter ($30 from Mr T.) is another Japanese work of art.
I'll be swapping out the fender today!

It's 8.6 oz of solid steel and sex appeal.
(funny how motorcycle parts can affect me)
