Optiglanz with no polishing followed by a water rinse and you'll be done in 4 minutes..

Very interesting topic here. I seem to spend all of my bike time riding, certainly don't have time for polishing. Would I be correct in assuming you people really do wash your bikes to? I did that once a long time ago, got over it real quick. Anyway, everybody have fun and stay safe.

Just call me a "pride of ownership" kind of guy but I have always taken care of items I spend my hard earned money on and do my best to keep them well maintained. Things like my cars, motorcycles, my house, etc., even my classic Corvette. So, yes, I do wash my bike once in a while. Heck, I even shower on a daily basis.

Cleaning my bike is a labor of love and who knows what I might find while doing it. Nail in tire, loose fastener, a Harley sucked up in my pipe.

Would I be correct in assuming your bikes are rusted, faded, and basically ruined POSs after a couple of years of neglect?

It's a habit that I acquired from the time I owned my first bike, a CB350G. It was all I could do financially to keep that bike running. It was my pride and joy and I kept it clean.
After a year or two of ownership the S100 cleaning product came out with their promise of essentially 'spray on rinse and ride'. It takes just a little bit more than that timewise, but not by much. It saves so much time over normal soaps that it's been worth the money to pay for it vs. the time to do it with cheaper cleaning agents. I've been using it ever since.

So the upshot is that I keep the bikes clean and I don't spend a lot of time doing it. Best of both worlds (except for the cost the cleaner !).

NEVER washed a bike. Just spray pledge on and wipe off. Easy.
