Like if I buy a 2017 EX tank from Samurider like this one https://www.samurider.com/?p=26001/#itemImage will it fit on my 2013 CB1100?

I believe so, I think a couple of people have done it, but check with Takashi through the quote link on the website.

It will fit as Retsel said. A few HAVE done it already. Just be aware that the fuel gauge reading will not be correct. Close, but not as good as you are used to now.

I gotcha. Do you think it would read over or under the actual fuel content? Also I thought I read on here about a way to recalibrate the fuel gauge awhile ago. Do you know anything about that?

I think it read low when it wasn’t. The only way to recalibrate is to bend the float arm. I’ll have to search around to find the thread.
Check out this post and the one following: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....#pid202753

And this one by me: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....#pid173492 There is another hose you have to add to and route down to under the bike. Just read post 16 about that hose.

You can search on 2017 tank, select posts (instead of threads) and a lot of posts come up. I’m not reading them all. Smile

Thanks Cormanus! We all try.

Ben, if you didn’t, look at the bike in the first post of the thread: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread....#pid183626

Its a ‘14, but the ‘13 and ‘14 tanks fit each other. Pretty much all the models do. Maybe the dlx is tad different. I think it fits, just tight against the seat, but I’d have to search again.

"13 and "14 tank models are swappable for sure = I did mine (Canadian)
You only have to transfer fuel pump assy (both have an oval shape housing), cuz '13 has a flat 3 pin connector versus '14 - 4 pin square. Fuel reading are fine, and bottom/reserve = perfect
As many other and Popgun mentioned, Takashi will have a final say about yellow tank.
Good luck, nice colour chosenClap

I can certainly understand wanting a larger fuel capacity and a cool seamless tank. if it's the color you're after, get the stock tank painted. Then you get to keep the cool wing badge and the ability to use a magnetic tank bag Smile
