I am no expert, but I suspect that there is a lot more regular air traffic from North America (NA) to Europe than from North America to Australia under normal circumstances. When disruptions occur, as in a pandemic, it would be more likely that NA to Australia would be more seriously effected than NA to Europe.

I’m sure that’s true Nachodaddy. Add to that Australia pretty much closed its border during Covid.
