Disassemble ?? Headlight / gauges

Has anyone here disassembled the headlight and instrument gauge cluster ? I don't see any issues with the Headlight since I've been in there a few times before. But Kinda worried about the gauges.

My goal is to disassemble each part and Paint or powder coat the chrome.

I don't think it is difficult, just a LOT of screws.

Just got done reading it. Looks like I can manage that. Now, I just need to figure a good way to paint chrome, that will last and look quality. I don't have the patience to wait for powder coating. It seems that everyone in my area is backed up for weeks. ! Appreciate the help popgun. Pretty cool how poster insinuates that Honda reps glance over at the forum every once and awhile.

I am not a painter, but there is chrome paint in rattle cans available. Carguy1959 is a painter. Maybe drop him a PM and see what he says.

Thanks, I'll do that. I just found this wiki post, looks pretty straight forward. Just want to make sure it's a reliable process before I start.

Good info. I was confused. I thought you wanted to paint the black plastic with chrome paint. I was going to do that with a headlight shell, and have a spare to try it on, but never did.

Nope, the chrome band around the gauges and the headlight I want to be flat black and than I'll be looking for a custom painter for my tank. Looking to go Dark Navy on tank and side panels with the removing of the badges and some nice accents. I'll definitely be posting some pictures, hope it turn out like I have it imagined. I believe
I saw a post from a guy on this forum out west, which did something similar which is giving me my inspiration.
