Trip Meter operation
#21
Lol good to know that you dont have an issue after all. I never use the kill switch for anything. Always the key.

I also NEVER use the kill switch to turn the bike off , only the key . It is still good to turn the kill switch on/of once in a while to keep it from corroding.

When I tried to check the fuel consumption and mpg with the engine off, the handlebar kill switch was activated (and ignition on of course). If I flick the kill switch back to the run position with the engine off, the amounts do in fact display.

In the end, it's a dumb question. The amounts only don't display if the kill switch is set... Sorry all!

Glad it was something simple and not a real problem.

Now to figure out why that is.....no sleep for me tonight.....

Will it have something to do with the fact that, when you turn on the ignition with the kill switch on, the fuel pump doesn’t cycle? Could it also be that some ECU functions don’t happen?

I don't use the kill switch to shut off the engine, either. I hit it before turning the key to ON so I could view the Odometer readings without the fuel pump running up pressure, since I wasn't planning on going anywhere.

Thanks for the input!
