Did a few years in a CO and we had a room full of 48V wet-cell glass lead acid batteries. Man, if one or more were to rupture, it would have been an ugly scene. A co-worker at the time rode in on a 1985 Yamaha SRX600. What an advanced thumper for its time. Uncommon here. Very light bike.

Gold, was that inherent to that bike, or when the carbs needed cleaning/adjustment?

Warm weather starts were a non-issue. I used to ride a Suzuki DR200 (brand new) that was difficult to start near the freezing temperature. Choke it too much and the engine flooded. |
