I don't care for the idea of buying something as personal as a motorcycle with the idea of coming to like it. There's something really special about walking into the garage and seeing that bike and thinking, "Wow, she's a beauty!" So much better than, "She sure is nice. I just wish I got the red one. And it had dual exhaust. And ABS. And a sixth gear..."
I say you wait for the one you really want. It'll come around. Just be prepared to pay to have it shipped to you from whatever part of the country it's in. If you haven't already, go into Google notifications and put in "CB1100." You'll receive emails anytime a CB1100 is listed anywhere on the internet.
Fortunately for me, it was the black standard that I knew I wanted from the outset and there were plenty for the choosing. I don't know what I would have done if all I could find were red DLXs! Haha.

I wanted to say thanks again to everyone! I took the plunge today with the 2014 Standard. The dealer was really motivated to sell it, so they worked with me quite a bit on the price. I was able to get the bike and all the accessories I wanted (heated grips, engine bars, windshield, and tank pad) for under 9500. I couldn't pass that up. I'm happy to officially be part of the community; you are a great bunch!

I can appreciate that sentiment for sure! I've never had ABS in the 4 years I've been riding, so I guess I don't miss what I haven't had. The color preference was slight, but I'm really happy with the black one I bought today. It is a gorgeous bike!
