WM Aluminum Fairing Help
#1
Help.

I'm looking for anybody who knows how to mount it (ie instructions).

There was an earlier post with pics, but well.. Photobucket isn't displaying em

I lucked into one at about 40% retail (it'd of been cheaper but there were a bunch of last minute bids on eBay $&@%#}}##

Anyway as it came off another bike, no instructions. It appears to have a mounting bracket underneath and for the bars. I don't think it would be too hard, but it's always worth checking

Also, I'm guessing it's ride height for the bars is stock height. If I mount the T2 bars I suspect I may have to make longer brackets

Thx in adv

If it's the chic design aluminum fairing that samurider sells it requires brackets for the headlamp and two brackets that mount to the triple tree. Can you post photos of what you bought with all of the parts?

That is the same one I have. If you look at the photo on Samurider that shows the plastic bag with parts in it you need all of those.

The links to your pics didn't work for me so I couldn't see what you have.

But the headlight must be moved further forward for that windscreen to work. You should have some extended headlight brackets. Replace those first. Then there are some brackets that mount the sides of the screen to the top triple tree clamp bolt. Due to the compound angle each side uses a larger bracket (attached to the top edge of the screen) and a shorter L bracket which mounts to the triple tree. A bolt attaches the larger bracket to the L bracket. Then there is a bracket that mounts underneath to the bolt that holds the horns.

I will take some photos when I'm back in my garage and post them here later today.

If you were given all of the mounting brackets it isn't hard to assemble. My pics will help. I will get them up in a few hours.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This is very helpful, I owe you beers.. Sorry the pics didn't work, I was a photobucket users and smugmug has some setting I need to learn. The eBay ad shows everything I got

http://www.ebay.com/itm/222598091458

From what I can tell I have the TT bracket from a 2014 and I didn't get the headlight extenders...

That said I have black aftermarket rather beefy headlight brackets..

So it looks like I'm gonna have to fab some stuff up, mount'em.. Remove and powder coat... So I might do the fairing at the same time...

Fortunately my current shield is uber easy to remove...

Hazards of buying used (and cheap)....

Thanks again

Looks like you got everything except the headlight brackets. I'm guessing the seller forgot they had to swap them out when they installed it. I think the brackets were about an inch longer than stock. I bet you could contact Mr. T at Samurider and see if you could just get the headlamp brackets. He has always been helpful when I have needed something special. I bet he would do it. Good luck. I polished mine and it matched the chrome fenders but I think I am going to paint mine now.

Thanks to your pic, I emailed the eBay seller who didn't know. He's gonna order himself a new set and send the ones on his bike..

Wouldn't have know to email him right away if it wasn't for you

Thx again

I would contact the seller and see if he has the brackets and if he's willing to part with them either free or for a price.
