I was a member of the TMIOA and we had rallies every year until around the turn of the century.

Wow, that brings back some great memories of those days, getting up early on the weekend to take a blast down PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) with the then-wife on the back. Oh what fun we had - especially her pounding on my back every time I'd crack turbo into action. ROFL

The first time we attended an open house there I wished that I could go back to school once again. At any rate, sitting in one of their automotive shops were a number of older bikes. Amongst them was a CX650 Turbo. I was more than a little surprised when I laid eyes on it.

Speaking of the CX650 Turbo... They used to have a really nice vintage race weekend out at Portland International Raceway. I don't believe that this event is still being held, which is a bummer. In conjunction with the racing, they held a vintage bike show and swap meet. They had some really interesting bikes show up for this event including this CX650E Turbo:

That is a great bike but not a turbo. I rode one, the CX650T, when they first came out. Plenty quick, really nice sport-touring setup. That's one bike I felt like I could have owned, but it didn't really fit the type of riding I liked most and as I was on the lower end of the income scale then, there was no chance of getting one.

This is it. Note the plumbing for the turbocharger coming out of the right lower fairing, near the radiator area.

However, if I am still riding a few years down the road, one of these may be on the list.

I still have a Seca 650 Turbo stashed away in the corner of Lee's garage. Real nice, but needs carb needle and seats. One of these days we'll have time to dig it out and play Wink

Yeah, I'm the guy who keeps talking to you about it (Daniel). Wink
When you get it running, we'll most likely have a very serious conversation. Big Grin
