One point i would make is to remove the "venting" from your cl ad or at least reduce it to a simple statement of "price is firm, no trades", etc. Ranting never works in your favor as a seller. As a serious buyer, I would hesitate buying from someone that has a short temper and is threatening to raise the price of they are displeased with me (the extreme interpretation of your venting). I've dealt with crazy sellers, exs, and father-in-laws before. Any time I see a rant in an ad it is a red flag to run away.
On another note, cl is probably not a good place to sell something rare and collectable. I've had far better luck with ebay. People don't send very many crazy emails because they are bored and they "vote" with their pocketbook.

Point made, and advice taken. Appreciate the candor :-) but I'm actually having a lot of fun with this.
Luckily, I have a couple of friends who are members of that group and have run to my defense in my absence. I think it's pretty sorry that they've taken my ad and made it a topic of ridicule.

How do you know people are ridiculing your post? Are they posting about you online somewhere?

Most forums have rules against that kind of behavior, at least the good ones like this forum I would expect the moderators to clean it up. I would say there is no failure in defending yourself, but I would take the high road and keep comments polite/simple for a better chance at attracting serious buyers who are the only people that matter in a sales transaction.
It's one thing for a serious buyer to show up with cash in hand and offer less than you are asking because they feel it is worth less than you feel it is. People running their mouths on the internet are just background noise with no skin in the game.
