Can't choose which of your children you love most lol.
The FJR is a long distance tripper, the CB more an around town ride for me, but that doesn't/wouldn't stop me for using each for both purposes.
I rode both bikes yesterday and the FJR today (trying to get to 600 miles soI can do the first service)
Yamaha fixed my main 2 complaints on the FJR when I test rode one in 06 before buying the ST. Stiff throttle and clutch. The 06 made both of my forearms cramp. The slipper clutch on the 18 is nice and light and the RBW throttle is smooth and easy. Almost too easy lol. Transmission is good, 6th gear is nice. Suspension is good. Digital gear indicator is nice, cruise control and heated grips nice (although it's been in the 90's and I haven't tried the heated grips). Power is crazy. great brakes. What a nice motorcycle. I am getting used to the sitting on rather than in, and getting used to tip in points and throttle control on curves. Couldn't be happier at this point.

Ferret what do you mean by 'tip in points' ?

offroad, I mean the point where you transition from being upright to laying it over for the turn (ie: tipping it over or tipping it in). As you know I tend to run deep to the outside of a turn while reading the turn, before deciding where and how far I'm going to need to lean (tip it over) to make the turn. This can vary depending on the bike you are on (wheelbase, weight, tires etc). I would think you'd notice a difference between your BMW and your CB too. Ride the Beemer down a curvy road, and then ride the CB down the same road, and I'd bet you'd be tipping in too soon on a lot of the turns on the CB, causing you to straighten up and make a correction before tipping in again to complete the turn..

These new FJRs seem to be pretty popular. Went by my local megadealer this morning to check out the latest discount on the '17 EX was (it's down to $10K). They had several FJRs on the floor last month, but none this morning. The sales guy said they sold 7 of them in June and were having a hard time getting any more.
