S100 safe on tires and disk brakes?
#1
Just wanted to know if S100 is safe on tires and disk brakes? Could not really tell from their website if it is.

Yes, spray on with bike cold, not in direct sunlight, rinse right away, direct hard spray, finish rinsing with a shower type spray. Dry with soft cloth or blower. After dry take for 10 mile "drying ride" applying brakes often and being careful with tires for the first 5 miles.

I just bought some of this today. From what I hear it's pretty good stuff.

Honda actually sells this product as Hondabrite I have read.

IMHO, S100 leaves surfaces stripped too "dry" and open to corrosion. It's ok for a few things, but I like something with a bit of wax in it for the final finish on most areas of the bike.

Why would you put that on disc brakes? I just clean mine with rubbing alcohol. BTW I put some on my headlamp and it made the surface on the smooth plastic feel like sand paper, I immediately cleaned it of, maybe the heat from the lamp had some weird reaction?

Mr Jangles it gets on the discs when you spray the bike, but it won't hurt them. S100 specifies bike being cold when sprayed and out of direct sunlight. maybe that is why you had issues? I have been using S100 and sister product Bike Brite on my motorcycles for maybe 15 years with no issues. It's good stuff. Will be using it later today to clean the dirt from yesterdays rain ride off the CB.

I've been using S100 since the early 90's - only problems I've had was when I didn't rinse enough, and got a white filmy look.

I was mistaken in my previous post, I was using the S100 plastic polish for my face shield, of course you would not use that on disc brakes. I now see that the stuff your using is a cleaner...I stand corrected.
