The flat tyre thread had me thinking. Anyone care to share experiences with the green goo? I had a friend used it on his sportsbike. I have dabbled with it in my bicycles but never on a motorbike. I read stories about corrosion on steel rims but generally keen to understand if it's worth it on the CB.

I've used it a couple of times, where I got a tiny puncture in the center of the tread that was too small for a plug and as always, it's on a low mileage tire. It works and I've never had any problems with it. When it's time for a new tire I always inform the shop because it's a little messy when they take the tire off the rim.

I've had better success with Ride-On than Slime.
The Slime turned to powder within just a couple of years and no longer provided any sealant capability. I have read, but cannot confirm the accuracy, that Slime attacks alloy wheels and other wheel components.
I have had no such issues with Ride-On. It stayed pliant, remained in the "wear area" of the tire and was still visible and functioning when I replaced a tire after 2 years. There was no mess to deal with during tire removal as the Ride-On stays where it is needed.

What Gumby 1100 says above!
+1 on the Ride-On "gooou"...My experience with their product duplicates your statements...I even used it as a back-up treatment for a plugged tire(with the "worm-plug")...especially liked the fact that it stayed in the "wear area" as you describe & the bike mech was pleased that the Ride-On stayed in place when he dismounted tire

Hey guys thanks for the tips. I had never heard of ride on but a bit of searching quickly found it in oz
http://www.rideon.net.au/
I like the sound of it and reports seem favourable over the slime products.
Thanks again.
