I'm not sure if you mean actual Christmas lights, or just some serious auxiliary lighting. But either way, my feeling on over doing it with lighting, or sound in the form of extra loud exhausts, may have unintended consequences. Target fixation is not only a problem for bikers. If you attract too much of a focus from typical automobile drivers, you might get fixated upon...and the results of that are never good. Probably not a scientific base for my theory, but I'd avoid riding around like a Christmas tree on two wheels.

This is a good point. If you ask a cop, one of the most dangerous places they can be is pulled over on the side of the road with all of their lights flashing. While it seems contrary to common sense, people regularly get fixated and slam into highly visible emergency vehicles with flashing lights.

It got so bad here in AZ that they made a law that you have to move over 1 lane or slow down 10 mph when passing an emergency vehicle at the side of the road.

I thought this was a standard rule of the road?? Move over or slow down when passing the police/emergency vehicles with their lights on. Maybe I learned that from my 18 years in Arizona?!

Either way common sense I think should prevail.

I think it used to be a common sense rule. Over the past few years the carnage on the highways got so bad they put it on the books and attached a hefty fine.
