Hey Guys, have a question for ya - please forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this, I'm fairly inexperienced with forums.
I joined a VFR forum and they have a cool section that shows where people are from so that you can plan rides in your area or catch up with people you may see on the road. For example it has multiple categories such as:
Northeast
Midwest
Southeast
etc....
Then each category is divided up by state. So you'll click on Southeast and there will be sub-categories for NC, SC, GA, TN, etc, etc.
I've seen 2 CB's in the Charlotte area while riding and I'd love to try to get some rides planned, I think that would be an awesome way for everyone to start to get together with other CB's in their area!
Again I apologize in advance if this isn't the correct place to post this, I'm learning more and more about forum etiquette every day...thanks guys!!!!

No problem. I've been trying to implement plug-in for the forum that uses Google maps and would show where members are located, provided a member input detailed location info. However, it seems that Google has made some changes, rendering such a plug-in fairly useless. I'll keep looking and maybe I'll be able to come up with something that works for the forum software I'm using.
In the meantime, if anyone wants to point me in the direction of other forums that have this functionality of similar traits, I'd be happy to take a look.
All the best,
Guth

Hey Guth,
Check out the Nighthawk Forums at
http://nighthawk-forums.com/ .
They've got a regional section for the U.S. and an International section.
They've also got a "member map" function, but it's operation is spotty and doesn't work for a lot of browsers. Possibly because of the same Google issues you ran into.

Honda Twins.net also has a member map section that's worth a look.

Guth, a great forum. Congratulations. If you proceed with the above please include a Down Under. I have only seen one other CB in the wild here in Oz, so I see a real positive in the idea.
Guys, see how easy it is to pass work to others. I have to say, rather modestly, that I am not afraid of hard work. I regularly fall asleep right beside it
