What I did on my summer vacation...
#1
I help take care of my wife's aunt and uncle, both in their 80's, which involves spending the summer on the coast at Trinidad where it is gorgeous and cool, stunningly beautiful redwoods, coastline etc..
I help him fish out of his boat powered by a Honda outboard, inline 4, 90hp, extremely reliable... sound familiar?
The plan was to get the CB over there so I could poop around on it in my spare time, but just as we got settled in I suffered a detached/torn retina and ended up unable to handle the elevation involved in making the trip.
Caught lots of fish had a great time and avoided the valley heat which ran into triple digits most of the summer.
Got back Monday and pulled the wheels to have the PR3's mounted that I purchased in May. Installed those today and was delighted with the results. Everyone gives them good reviews but I haven't heard much about improved low speed handling. I found that getting through town in traffic was much more relaxed, felt very connected and well balanced.
I followed Redbirds lead with a 120 on the front, and noticed a better feeling on my gravel drive... hey don't laugh, that's important too Tongue
Also installed some additional lead weight, about 4 ounces per bar end, which eliminated the numbness I had been suffering from "buzz". The outboard had it too, just an inline 4 thing, I guess.
If these results continue, I am going to paint or plasti-dip them and post pics.
I have heard how much you enjoy fish Mr. Ferret, and I have a freezer full if you are ever in the neighborhood Big Grin
PS... moderators, if there is a better place for this please do the honors. Thanks.

Except for the detatched retina, it sounds much better than my summer vacation. I spent mine repairing the rental house, NOT going on my planned west coast bike trip, and attending one funeral. However I did get the new CB and made a couple of short week end trips on it. I did remain healthy. I consider that a win. Jim

Focus on the getting a new CB part! Definitely a win.

Trinidad sounds nice.
i moved 7 tons of gravel with a shovel and a small trailer behind my mower around the back of the house to deal with a water erosion problem.
Like I said.
Trinidad sounds nice.

My uncle used to live on Trinidad. Sounds great. Hope the retina's healed up.

G'day, Cormanus! I believe the Trinidad of which you speak may be the beautiful island in the southern Caribbean, part of Trinidad and Tobago. I was in the one on the Northern California coast, just north of Eureka. Also just north of the mostly defunct lumber towns of Manila and Samoa. I am always amused by those names which must have come from some old seafarers.
I may be wrong, but when you said "on" rather than "in" I figured island. Cheers, mate!

Sounds like a fun summer actually. A getaway most people have to pay for. (well except for the detached retina and not having the CB around)

Fish? I'll eat it when Mrs Paul's gets done making breaded fish sticks out of it, but only if I can dip them in ketchup.

Yeah, you can peal the bread off and eat it with the ketchup, and pitch the fish! Hope to make up for lost seat time but it was a fun summer.

Ah! Right you are. I wondered about the use of the word 'in' too. Still sounds like a good holiday.
