Not two months ago I experienced the ultimate vindication/schadenfreude with regards to a distracted driver. A lady in a dodge caravan changed lanes into the space I was physically occupying next to her without looking and forced me to pull forward suddenly to get out of the way. When I looked in my mirror to give her the typical stink eye and rude gestures, I saw blue lights behind her....Turns out there had been an unmarked police tahoe right behind her when she pulled this move and he decided to immediately pull her over when he saw her try to push me out of the lane.

When I tell you how delicious it felt watching those blue lights fade into the background in my mirrors.....hoo boy.

I love it when that happens - the blue lights that is.
I had a similar experience and only the great brakes of the 1100 saved me.
The siren and blue lights startled me when he roared by and onto the tail of the offender.
My rage turned to glee when I saw that!

Was just thinking about this, which made me post it. Mrs. G has been working from home since the pandemic. When she had a commute, when I'd clean her car, I'd be wiping bits of makeup off of her steering wheel and seat. When I'd counsel her on farding while driving, she'd reply "I do it in the parking lot when I get there, not while I'm driving... sheesh!"

She's going back out in the field in a few weeks, and I'm sure I'll be going back to cleaning the seat and steering wheel.

My situation was the exact opposite. Almost to work on the 405, and heard the familar "thump-thump-thump" of tires crossing the lane dots to my immediate left. It was a CHP officer, head-down, staring at his phone and making a lane change and completely oblivious to what was in the lane next to him. I had room to move to the right, but he never saw me.
