Front Fork Brace

I am looking to get a fork brace in the near future and wanted to get some feedback on the quality of them before I buy. I have found 2, Agras and Kijuma. If you have either, let me know what you think.

I'm glad this came up. Sometimes when I'm riding through slow-speed turns (like in a parking lot or at stop sign corners), I hear the front brakes scrub through the turn. I wonder, could fork flex be causing this? This is the first bike I've ever experienced this with.

It's surprising because I would think our steel front fender would serve as a sufficient brace in itself, whereas my previous bikes have had flimsy plastic fenders. Is there a specific reason you're looking for one?

Just seeking some added stability. My last bike had a hydraulic steering stabilizer and I guess I am just used to a very "solid" feel when cornering. I figure the brace should help.

Here's a picture of an Agras fork stablizer purchased from Samurider. The picture doesn't begin to do it justice. For instance the area of the cross brace that tapers down at each end is done in a series of very fine parellel lines that are simply georgeous. You can't see it in the picture.

This fork brace has very tight tolerances and has to drop straight down between the fork tubes to fit in place. If it's angled just the slightest bit, it will bind.



It's a bit pricey, but I don't think you can go wrong. The Agras is an exquisitely sculptured, precisely manufactuer piece of hardware.
