2014DLX Seat fits nicely on 2011 Aussie model CB1100

Today I received a new DLX Seat for my 2011 CB1100.

The seat plus a few spares and filters were only ordered on July 11th and all arrived today by UPS here in Sydney Australia . Only 7 days later.

First impressions are that the seat looks and feels better than the low profile Aus/Japan spec seat that we have here in Australia. It even goes on and off easier than the original seat. Simply snapped into place first time.

After reading other posts I am confident in getting some extra legroom and comfort for the longer trips. I will let you know the outcome when the warmer weather reappears and I get a time for a few hours in the the new saddle.

An added bonus is the design of the seat. More retro with the quilted pattern and Honda logo. Now even more old timers will comment on the great restoration I've done on such an old bike.(happens just about every time I park the CB outside the coffee shop)

My thanks to all on the forum who did the initial research and trials on this simple and relatively cheap upgrade.

Is it necessary to order OEM Honda parts all the way from the US to get the parts you wanted, or just cheaper (even with shipping)? Just curious why you didn't order locally.

They don't have the new CB1100's in Australia so the DLX seat is not available there.

The new CB is not available here so no 2014 model parts are in stock. Also your US prices are generally much lower even with shipping. Honda parts aren't cheap anywhere but we seem to have a higher mark up here compared to the US.

Your dealers also have those great online OEM parts catalogues to make shopping even easier. Online price competition between your dealers is very obvious.

I compared Pro Caliber with other dealers and their seat price was around $50 less than most at only $258. Good value compared to trying to remodel the original seat.

I live in a Sydneys southern beach suburb called Cronulla and my closest Honda dealer is around 25 klms away in the city CBD so surfing the net is a lazy way to go and saves some valuable time for more leisurely pursuits.

We do have a big motorcycle accessory store and service shops locally so riding gear, oils, tyres etc is no problem.
