K&N air filter? - Papa Weeley_imp - 05-22-2015 Anyone using the K&N on their bike? If so, did you notice any discernible difference with it? I've put these on just about every vehicle I've owned for years, so I'll probably be doing it anyway, just curious if you could feel any increase in airflow and/or power. RE: K&N air filter? - Lord Popgun - 05-22-2015 Here is one, of more than one, thread on them: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4115&highlight=K%26N RE: K&N air filter? - Papa Weeley_imp - 05-22-2015 Thanks, popgun - really odd, I ran searches twice before I posted this, and only got results of mentions of the filter within another subject, nothing this specific. I was POSITIVE that I'd read something like the above. Thank you - RE: K&N air filter? - rboe - 05-22-2015 Between what I've learned on the dirt bike forums and the Guzzi forums; the K&N does NOT protect your motor from fine particulates and the stock filter breathes well enough that I'll never buy a K&N again. Made sense back in the carb days; but not today. Typically when I respond that the stock system breaths pretty good already folks post in disbelief; then I look at the area of the intake snorkel on my F150 3.5L Ecoboost motor, pretty much the same size as my 1.2L normally aspirated Guzzi engine and I stand my ground. These modern motors breath pretty darn good and unless you affect the whole air pumping train from intake to exhaust and the valve timing and ECU programming all you are doing is giving money to K&N. And probably increasing intake noise. RE: K&N air filter? - 12cb96vfr_imp - 05-22-2015 yeah man I have a K&N and I don't notice any difference whatsoever....I ride enough that it was worth it from the clean & reuse standpoint. |
