Shifter Lever Height Adjustment - White Dog_imp - 08-01-2015 I/ve looked thru the shop manual but cannot find any reference to raising or lowering the shifter lever. Is it possible to raise the lever? I installed a different peg and feel I could shift better if the lever was higher. I noticed there is a connecting rod which is threaded on both ends but cannot readily see where the lower end attaches. If that is the adjustment for lever height, does the rod need to be lengthened or shortened by adjusting the nuts on the rod itself? Also, if adjustable, how much can it be adjusted? RE: Shifter Lever Height Adjustment - the Ferret - 08-01-2015 Yes loosen the locknuts, and twist the rod (not sure which direction but adj is very noticeable as you are doing it. I measured from center of lever tip to ground and I think I adjusted mine about 1/2" but not sure how much total adj there is.) Let us know how it works out for you My first adjustment was too high. My big foot couldn't handle it so I lowered it. I've tweaked it a couple times, since it is so easy an adjustment to make with one wrench. Since I had the pivot bolt off in order to remove the pin which holds the foot peg, I installed a Goldwing peg but had to slightly modify it to fit under the pivot bolt. I also greased the pivot bolt while I had it off to allow for smoother shifting. My shifting has always "popped" right into the proper gear and I did not want to lose that function. One of these days, I'm gonna try some high speed shifting to see if the cycle will do it.
