Removing Fuel line. - J.W._imp - 04-02-2016
Hi I have tried today to remove the Fuel Tank off my 2014 CB1100, I am struggling to remove the fuel line fixing. Can anybody talk me through the process. You seem to have to press two sides of it and pull, I tried this but it doesn't seem to want to move.
Appreciate any help.

Should show you how -- off and on. The only thing missing from the video is that you have to remove the rubber cover that the CB has, which prevents the two tabs from being pushed together.

The service manual also recommends you replace the little retainer and the rubber cap when you take it off,
I did they don't cost much and you don't have to feel bad about being a little ruff with the old one.

Excellent thank you very much for the replies, I didn't try to remove the black rubber tab, so I suppose that's where I went wrong.

The black rubber tab just moves out of the way so you can squeeze the plastic tab. I had to use pliers because I simply wasn't strong enough in that tiny space to do it any other way. Unfortunately, with metal pliers, you risk causing a spark and blowing yourself up, however, if you get a pair of plastic pliers (often used in electrical work), you can get it done.

The book says Do Not Use Pliers. I think so you don't mess up anything, but the blowing up thing is a consideration

Yeah, I'm reasonably certain the manual says not to use pliers because it's metal-on-metal and you can cause a spark and create an impromptu Fourth of July display. I guess you could also squeeze too hard on the wrong thing and crush the fuel line.
All that being said, I actually used metal pliers, didn't blow anything up, and didn't crush anything. I now have plastic ones in case I need to do it again.
