headlight adjustment - MikeD_imp - 01-02-2016
Do any of you guys have any tips for checking headlight adjustment? I installed a Dart flyscreen today(a Christmas gift from my wife!), and I'm not sure that I got the headlight back into the stock position. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Pull your bike in front of the garage wall and draw a horizontal line at the wall where the light line is.
Draw a parallel line 5 cm (2") below that line at the wall.
Pull the bike 5 m (~17 ft) back from the wall. The light line should now be at that parallel line at the wall. Move your light up or down until it fits.

Mike throw your allen in your tank bag/pocket whatever. Go out to a dark, flat road and stop in the middle of the road. Sit on the bike and flip on the high beam. Is it set so you can see the furthest down the road? or is it shining 30 feet in front of the bike? or is it shining in the trees? Set it so you can see best furthest down the road, and tighten it up. When you need light, you need high beam and it will be a different set up for every weight rider, what tires they have what suspension adj they have. Adjust it to fit your situation not the everybody situation.

The factory setting on my headlight bucket was ridiculously low. Basically, there was a horizontal line about 20 ft. in front of the bike where the light abruptly stopped.
I used the same method as Ferret and it made a huge difference.
