Fehling saddlebags support and signals relocation - VTR1000F_imp - 05-21-2014

Our friend [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1570]Barnattina brought to my attention German made Fehling saddlebag supports. I rushed to our shop today and as a miracle they had one kit on stock. I don´t understand that they hold this on stock as we have a very small number of CBs running. It cost me around 80USD and I can use them with my Kijima grab bar. The purchase will be logical for European based CBers as it is not needed to buy this from japanese manufacturers.

The kit contains solid-but-not so nice metal holder for relocation of rear turn signals to similar position as Hepco Becker. The supports are nicely made with spotless chrome. The kit contains plastic blanking plugs for the original position of rear turn signals.

Now I´m just waiting for Romo1961´s [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2528]wonderful relocation kit.

One question. What exact type of connectors do rear turn signal use? I would like to get some for the case Romo will not offer the kit with wiring pigtails. Thumbs Up

I believe if you look in Romos thread, VFR Paul listed type and retailer of the correct size connectors for the CB

Thanks, I´m aware of this:

Does the CB use "HB" or "HC" connectors? I´m not with my bike today and tomorrow so I can´t take a look.

Thank you.

I finally got to install of the saddlebags support and ran into a problem. They can´t be installed without relolocation of the indicators. Rear bracket with thru-bolt is too long and collides with indicator chrome housing.

For those who already relocated their signals - what is the cleanest approach? Disconnect them under battery tray (where the connectors are located I suppose), and put some kind of pigtails between original indicator loom and main loom? Or disconnect the wiring inside the indicator housings and go from there?

I´m coming from VW Beetle world and I´ve seen all kind of mechanical and electrical hacks on these poor cars..I like to keep everything factory looking or at least returnable to factory condition.

Thank you!

I like the Fehling products shown but it has so far been a hassle to procure and install. There are two products shown in the picture. The "luggage carrier" is the top rack that extends over the tail light and the "baggage holder" which is the U shaped tubing on both sides. They are sold separately and the 2013 luggage carrier does not fit the 2014. If fact it is in redesign and when available it will be made to fit either the 2013 or 2014. You can find these products at the Fehling.de website. Note that the turn signal relo hardware is included with the "baggage holder".
Regarding the turn signals I have decided to remove the originals (which come out all the way from the connectors near the battery) and replace them with the smaller but brighter X-Arc Yellow Chrome which can be found here: http://www.hightechspeed.com/products/XArc/index.asp
I found replacement orange and blue connectors that will allow me to keep the original turn signals with the wiring in the event I ever want to put them back. They can be spliced ot my new signals and can be found here: http://japan.webike.net/products/21125590.html
