Accessory outlet - drodg33 - 11-11-2014 Does anyone have an accessory outlet installed that I can see a picture and where did you purchase one? I know Gerbing's sells one and so does Aerostitch. For heavy duty use, like electric vest, I plug into my Battery Tender SAE plug. RE: Accessory outlet - Pauley - 11-12-2014 HikerToo - check the amperage ratings on the aftermarket wiring/fuse set up before connecting anything. I have a Battery Tender harness with an SAE connector wired to my battery with a 7.5amp fuse that I use with a Battery Tender and with a USB adapter to charge my cell phone if it needs it while riding. I also have a Firstgear heated gear harness with a 15amp fuse wired to my battery for my heated gloves (off topic, but oh baby those things are sweet). The instructions that came with the Firstgear stuff cautioned about using the Battery Tender SAE connection with coax adapter for the heated gear because of the rating. I had intended to have one harness for everything becasue I really didn;t want a rats nest and I didn;t see the need for both at the same time but gave that up when I realized the ratings were different. I have both harnesses wired to my battery and it's really not a mess at all. By some strange stroke of luck, I actually read the instructions and found that caution before I did something that would set my ride on fire. You may be well versed in this kind of tech, but I thought it was worth throwing out there. Happy motorcycling to you.
