RE: Need tires. - Cormanus - 08-27-2020 Thanks bflint. I don't have any problems with the 160 rear—I've been running one for some time—but I did run one set of the BT31s and was able to get a 140 rear. It's very strange to me that you can get a 140 rear in a small market like Australia but not in a huge one like the USA. Ferret, my Angel GT's have now run 9,000 miles with more to go. I doubt they'll equal the PR3s. The rears gave me 15,000 miles. RE: Need tires. - rbhmds_imp - 11-07-2020 OK team CB1100, will the following size tires fit a 2014 standard without creating width: Front Size: 120/70ZR18 59W, Rear Size: 160/60ZR17 69W? Found these in the Pirelli Angel series @ RevZilla. Thanks Robert... RE: Need tires. - tj_gee_imp - 11-07-2020 I believe peterbaron is running those sizes. http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3118&pid=268363#pid268363 RE: Need tires. - bflint - 11-07-2020 (08-27-2020, 01:11 AM)bflint_imp Wrote:Battlax T31 update: Over 18 day period put 6300 miles on new T31's. Rear is fine, but front has cupping .... bummer ... don't remember encountering this before. Honda Dealership which just did new chain/sprockets and oil change said I could still ride with cupped front as long as I was not doing aggressive s-turn stuff.(08-25-2020, 12:02 PM)The ferret_imp Wrote: Never been a big BS fan, but may be forced into liking them due to lack of other options. I read Pirelli is discontinuing the Angel GTsPer my service records, 8500 miles, so not bad actually. PR3s were always 10K plus, but I always replaced them early because wanted fresh rubber for summer xcountry trips. The Battlax T31 were close to the end at 10k when I last replaced them. RE: Need tires. - Houtman_imp - 11-07-2020 DO NOT skip on replacing tires , change them when worn down and do not wait till they are worn out . The best rubber can save your life..... The best rubber can save your life..... Agreed. When you see the fabric come through the rubber, clearly it wasn't your time ... yet. RE: Need tires. - peterbaron - 11-13-2020 Most likely for the 2021 season my running shoes might be: Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact Sport Touring front tire - 110/80ZR-18 Metzeler Tourance Next rear tire -150/70R18. Reviews are good. Love Michelin but limited 18" choice. RE: Need tires. - GoldOxide_imp - 11-13-2020 If I need them in 2021, I'll be vying for Dunlop Trailmax Missions. Need tires. - IndianRider_imp - 12-13-2020 Compared to the stock Bridgestones, the Pirelli Angel GT 120-160 really transformed my cb1100 ride quality especially in the twisties. The rear tire clearance to the stand is about 7-8mm no issues. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Need tires. - j3gq_imp - 12-14-2020 I have been reading this thread with quite some interest, but it seems to beg the question : aren't there any professional tire tests for motorcycles ? May be I am not riding fast enough to ever "feel the difference in the twisties", and don't burn enough tire tread to buy 5 more pairs to remember and compare in a few years. I hear that there are more choices for the standard, than for the EX, but in any case, do you really "test" your tires ? Don't get me wrong, don't say this thread is useless, I just can't imagine there ain't a better way than "liking" a tire. Any objection, any other opinion I will read and consider with great care. |
