I am not inclined to mandate it for others, but don't think it's a bad idea to be on all street motorcycles. A mfg's agreement of 186 mph for motorcycles intended for the street is crazy in a country where 80 is the maximum legal limit. For race track intended motorcycles, with no lights, turn signals, mirrors, and a special " intended for racing only" title it could have 500 horsepower and go 500 miles per hour for all I care. Race tracks are where limits should be tested, not on public roads. If the police have the capability of going 112.... I want to have the choice to go 130... or at least 113 ......cuz ya never know....Can someone please tell me how to use the smiley face feature here Mike yes our bikes our electronically speed limited to 112 mph. Do yourself a favor, if the police are behind you with lights flashing, pull over. A speeding ticket beats a speeding ticket plus wreckless op, plus eluding, getting to sit in the back of the car with cuffs on and go to jail ticket...thats if you dont crash and burn trying to get away and get really f'd up. Ron, you can still hit 100 in the blink of an eye on the CB 1100, just so you know. Mike yes our bikes our electronically speed limited to 112 mph. Okay maybe a home made pedal bike might be off of the grid enough... but remember home made as if you buy the materials to make one you put yourself on the grid for big brother... RE: Speed Sensor - the Ferret - 10-21-2013 Im more offended by the stinking cameras that are EVERYWHERE. If you watch NCIS Los Angeles or person of interest, or the old Sandra Bullock movie the Net even, what teh government knows about every one of us scares the crap out of me. Limiting me to going ONLY 112 mph, is one of the lesser intrusions in my life. I have come to accept the fact that we can't get away from Big Brother, we can't fight Big Brother, and it's only going to get worse. Luckily ( or unluckily depending on how you look at it ) I dont have too many more years on this planet, so it's only going to be a minor annoyance for me, but I really worry for my children and even more my grand children. I'm afraid in this land of the free, they will have very few true freedoms left. I'm guessing someday vehicles will be governed to the speed limit by GPS, at which time your CB whatever will probably be limited to 70 mph in 70 zones and 10 or 15 in parking lots. Limiting me to going ONLY 112 mph, is one of the lesser intrusions in my life. With more and more and more items being computer controlled, ie no more brake pedal pushing a lever and actuating the master cylinder on your car, or even your gas pedal by cable to the motor, now a days it is all electronic switches... Give it a few years and that will all be controlled by big brother. Just like in the movies, get in a vehicle of some sorts and enter your destination and you end up by there travelling at predetermined speeds and routes. Keep your CB1100!!!! To get away from all that. Oh wait the rev limiter... shoot that has to go! This is just one that came up in my search. Very cool stuff but yeah who wants big brother involved in their life for? RE: Speed Sensor - mike delligatta_imp - 10-22-2013 Guy's....Now we are seeing the point of my post about a speed limiter. RE: Speed Sensor - Deanohh_imp - 10-22-2013 You can unplug the speed sensor if you don't mind getting an error code and check engine light, and no Speedo or odometer. RE: Speed Sensor - SanPete_imp - 10-22-2013 I believe France and Brazil are currently fighting Big Brother. It is amazing how much noise one person can make. Does Snowden ring a bell? It is even more amazing how much noise a Speed Limiter can make. Should we add SPEED LIMITER to Carlins 7 forbidden words? |
